On a Saturday morning, Princess woke up late and fumbled her way downstairs to
find her father, he was standing in the kitchen pouring himself what must have
been his 5th or 6th cup of coffee because the pot was also almost empty. “Hey there
kiddo, how did you sleep?” he asked, “Ok I guess” she mumbled back as she
hopped up onto the bar stool and grabbed herself a plate full of blubbery pancakes.
dumping almost the whole bottle of syrup onto them. “I had the best dream last
night” she garbled, with a mouth full of pancakes. Oh yeah? What was your dream
about?” Dad asked. Princess launched into her story about her dream and how in
her dream her father had let her get a puppy for her birthday. “Wow that sounds
like quite the dream,” her father said, “Do you think you can handle the
responsibility of taking care of a dog? “You know it is a lot of…” Dad continued
but Princess cut him off before he could get the last word out, “Yes Dad I know
dogs are a lot of work, and I can handle it I promise, please can we get a dog.” She
pleaded. “What type of dog?” Dad asked, “a cute one,” she said with another
mouth FULL of pancakes. Dad then followed up his dogs ' work speech
with “you know each type of dog is different and needs different types of care, you
should do some thinking on it.”
