As days went by, Princess began to think she had fallen asleep in class and dreamed the whole thing, maybe there wasn’t a dog at all, she thought. She and her friends looked all around the playground each day after class, looking for anything that might tell them that the dream dog had been there, but each day they came up empty-handed. Princess’s Birthday was in eleven more days, and she had been asking her dad about getting a puppy, it was just the two of them at home and the house was still and quiet most nights. Being the new girl in school Princess had made a few friends but still felt like she didn’t belong. She didn’t like a lot of the same things most other 13-year-old girls liked. She wore lots of black and loved having her nails painted black too, her favorite jewel was a pair of spider erring with a matching necklace. Princess’s normal hair was a golden bold, but her father had let her dye it a dark silver-Ish gray for the month of her birthday. The other girls at school thought she was a little weird. So having a dog around might give her someone to play with and talk to when she felt out of place, after all a dog wouldn’t care what she looked like or dressed like. Princess knew that a dog would love her unconditionally and want nothing but love and belly rubs in return.
